Question:Applicants must respond to actions to the Patent office within a prescribed time limit.

Answer:
The reply of an applicant to an action by the Office must be made within a prescribed time limit. The maximum period for reply is set at six months by the statute (35 U.S.C. 133) which also provides that the Director may shorten the time for reply to not less than 30 days.

Answer:
Amendments to drawings filed after allowance are entered by the Office of Publications. If such amendment is forwarded to the examiner, the examiner should forward or return the application to the Office of Publications.

Question:The laws of the U.S make no discrimination against the citizenship of the inventor, any inventor may apply

Answer:
The patent laws of the United States make no discrimination with respect to the citizenship of the inventor. Any inventor, regardless of his/her citizenship, may apply for a patent on the same basis as a U.S. citizen. There are, however, a number of particular points of special interest to applicants located in foreign countries.
